To investigate the use of screen casting for demonstration of various software platforms to students in classroom settings, or for online learning
Screencasting provides a range of functionality. This type of software is priceless for demonstrating various software platforms to students in classroom settings, or for online learning. Largely, students rely on handouts with helpful program code. However, learning is very much dependent on the student viewing screen demonstrations of programming steps and descriptions of how code “fits together”, what to do and what not to do. A video with these steps can be simply rewound to repeat an element where students have questions or difficulties, rather than a lecturer deleting the entire program and starting again and losing class time.
